Still Keeping Busy!!

There's no doubt the second half of July and August so far have been my quietest months but things have still been busy with guest sessions and fun community sessions.

I had a great first session the other night with Crossley Ladies, who play in the West Riding County 3rd division.  Some good players and they all contributed.  Loads of banter on a fine summer evening.  I was also invited to coach the u11 girls at Castleford White Rose and thoroughly enjoyed the session at what is a well organised club that has been recognised nationally.  I've been asked by Castleford White Rose to deliver the FA Football Mash Up sessions for girls there on Fridays too.  We had the first session last Friday and it went well.  All good!

I finished a series of sessions on Wednesday evening for Smokin Aces, a Batley open age mens side who have a few decent players.  Another good squad provided through my Sporting Equals contact.  They had a friendly against Savilletown in Dewsbury.  I was invited to do the warm up and had a word at half time and at the end of the game.  Loads of positives and a good result against a side ranked higher I believe?

It will be a busy start to the new season, with a couple of new projects coming into play.  I've been asked to deliver the practical coaching for a BTEC youth footbll course at The Shay Stadium which I'm looking forward to.  I'll also be starting two or three after school clubs around the area, after being asked back by quite a few primary schools.  It's hard to turn down opportunities but I'm now having to plan my time to the minute to make sure I can deliver as many sessions as is practically possible.  I will also be starting my FA Club Mentor programmes with my two allocated junior clubs.  I'll be finding out officially who I'll be working with in the next few weeks.

Mark.
